CHURCH SERVICES

At St. Matthew's Church to-morrW, Easter day, there will be celebrations of ; th© Holy dommunion; at 6, 7, 8, 9.30 a.m. and. at 12 noon. There will be an address 'and hymns at 9.30. ; Matins will be sung at 11 a.m.; 'preaclier, Canon A. Neild; evensong at 7 p.m.;. preacher, Rev. K. Liggett." Holy Baptism at 3 p.m. Special- Easter services will be conducted in the Salvation Arxny Hall tom'orrow. Topical addresses . will be given by Oommandant- Gook 'in the morning ahd by Major MarshaH" in the evening. Easter hymns and music will brigfiten the services- An invitation is extended to all who are interested. The services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church will be addressed by Mr. George Gray, a missionary from India. The choir will render special Easter music. Mr. Waugh will conduct the afternoon service at Raukawa at 2.30 and the evening service at Maraekakaho. Both of these will be Easter services, with appropriate hymns. In the Hastings Methodist Church to-morrow special Easter services will be conducted by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell. The morning subject will be an Easter meditation on the words : "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great.1' At the evening service the subject will be "How can anyone rise from the dead?" — a talk with a man who does not believe in the Resurrection theory. The anthems announced are: Morning, "The Radiant Sun" ; evening, "Abide With Me." All are heartily invited these services, a special invitation being extended to visitors. "Have we any 'real assurance of immortality " is the 6ubject of the address to be given to-morrow evening in St. Andrew's Church." Anthems appropriate to Easter will be sung by the choir at both services, and in the evening Miss Olsen will sing a solo. There will be the usual relay service in St. John's Hall, Mahora, at 7 p.m. Easter services will be held to-mor-row, Sunday, in the Baptist Church, Karamuu road south. The Rev. C. B. Bogis will be the preacher. TEe morning subject is "ifriday to Sunday," while for the evening the topic announced is "The Extra Man." A very cordial welcome is extended to all visitors to Hastings to unite in the worship a.t the Baptist Church. The choir .will sing appropriate music. The titlo of the address in the United Hall on Sunday night is "The Resurrection of Christ: an assurance of physical resurrection to eternal life for His followers, and also of the judgment of the worjd." In its course, i evidence of the truth and actuality of j Christ 's resurrection will be given and j attention direeted to some of those ' things which in the purpose of God ' follow it. All interested are welcome. i | A speaker of more than usual ability, j Mr. J. D. Maitland Kirwan, will be ; present on Wednesday evening next to ' deliver a lecture on the work of the J British Syrian Mission at the Stortford Lodge Mission Hall. The mission | is working in a most interesting part of the world, and the lecture will be I well worth attending.
