Annual Prize-Giving

ORMONDVILLE, Last Night. The annual prize-giving ceremony took place at the Ormondville school, There was a good muster of parents and friends. Mr H. J. Newling, chairman of the school committee, welcomed the visitors. Mr Smalley, the new headmaster, expressed pleasure in meeting the parents and begged for their co-operation in developing th© mdividuality of the children. The children gave ari entertainment before receiving prizes which were presented by 'Mrs H. J. Newling. Each child received a hook and a packet of sweets, given by Mr McMurr§y. Olive Anderson received a special prize,, given by Mr F. B. Ash, Dannevirke, for good conduct and hard work. Miriam Howes was dux. Mr Newling proposed a vote of thanks to the teachers. Afternoon tea was provided by the mothers of the children. The chairman and committee wish to thank Messrs C. 0. Newling, O. Nikolaison, A. Hyde, G. Donghi and McMurray for donations.
