WILD ROSE PHEASANT'S EYE TAFFETA FOR MAIDS
O'Malley — Ross Two maids in lovely gowns of wild rose pheasant's eye taffeta attended the bride, Martha Mildsed, only doughter of Mr and Mrs K. Ross, Lascelles street, Hastings, at her marriage to John Walter James, eldest son of Mrs J. O'Malley, Roberta street, Hastings. The wedding was Bolemnised by the Bev. B. J. A. Shaw at S]b. Aadrew's Presbyterian Chijrch this afternoon, the church beipg dOcorated with pink and white flowers, Miss A. Lock presided at the organ and while the register was bsing aighOd Miss Merle Bqach eang "Ave Maria." The bride was given away by her br:sber, Mr Andrew Ross, and looked very charming jn her bridal gown of off-white friendshdp crepe with a spray of white velvet orohids aoross the square neckline in front. The long straight sleeves had a loose cowl from the shoulders and a matching cowl finished the neckline at the back, The bodice was shaped onto the trained skirt with a curve in front and finished at the back With a wide stitohed belt with a crystal buckle. She wore a neoklace of rock crystal, silver shoes and lxer veil of tulle was arranged with a halo of oranga blossom and veil fail?ng from a pleated frill at the back of her head, She carried a bouquet of red roses, oarnations and fern. The two maids were Miss Joan Beach (chief), and Miss Joyce Robinson, and their frooks of taffeta were alike with a long trained skirt shaped onto the corsage in front and having a sash of velvet in a deeper shade of wild rose. A lovely spray of velvet flowers in the same deep shade was worn at the neck which formed a deep V at the back, The sleeves were cut in the new style, very full on the shoulders and fitting tight above the elbow. Their sandal shoes in the same shade aa their gowns were of satin spotted with silver and each maid wore two pink carnations at oue sid© of her hair and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and roses with maidenhair fern. Their gifts from the bridegroom were bracelets of brilliants. Mr Douglas Trumper was the best man and Mr Dick itowe the groomsman, Ushers at the church were Messrs W. Little, JBL. Hopkins and Harold Beach. The wedding reception was held at the Selphast tearooms where the tables wetre decorated witfi fihaded pink flowers, the two-tiered wedding cake being in tbe eentre of the bridal table. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs K. Ross, Mrs Rqss wearing a frock of navy blue silk with jabot and covered buttons of figured silk with touches of cherry. She wore a navy velour hat and carried a cherry shaded posy. Mxs J. O'Malley, the bridegroom' s motber wore a wine ensemble trimmed with paler pink and a wine velour hat, and carried a pink. posy. When the bride .aua bridegroom left for theHir honeymoon the bride changed jnto a travelling frock of coronatfon blue wool georgette with a flowered clasp at the neck and matching buckle on the belt. She wore a musquash coat with skunk collar and vuffs and navy velour hat with soarlet quill. Her brown handbag and gjoves were a gift from the bridegroom. The invxted guests were: Mrs Archibald, grandmother of the bridegroom, Miss Archibald, Misses I. & J. Todhunter, Messrs T. aud W. O'Malley, Master David Ross, Mr and Mrs A, Archibald, Mr and Mrs "W.
