The' Loyal' Hastings n,odge, M.U.O.F., lotifies members that the children 's £jarty has been again postponed as a precautionary measure. The next regular meeting will be held on ^uesday next, March 30, at 7.30 p.m. Dog Trial enthusiasts are advised that the annual meeting of the Kaweka Maiden Sheep-dog Trial Club will be held on Saturday, April 10, and will be open to competitors from Whanawhana Station to Hawkeston Station, both inclusive.
The Doiuinibn Setter Club will hold the North Island ehampionship gun-dog field trials on Mr.' -E. A. Yule's property . at Eaupare . on. Sunday next, ' March 28, coiuinencing at 1 p.iu., when there will be water and field events for aJl breeds of dogs. Exceilent trophies are offered, including cups and crystal ware. Competing dogs are expected to be present from all parts of the, North Island. There is to be a class for «etlers and pointers, also a novice class, besides the ehampionship. Mr. Mason, of Masterton, will act as judge, while Mr. Howlett will be the shootist. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. ^ The annual apppgl by the licd Cross Society will be made in Napier on Friday, April 9, when the usual street and house-to-liouse collections will be held in addition to the Red Cross sliop. On this occasion an additional feature of the appeal will be the holding of a raffle for.an exceilent dolls' liospital, which has been constructed by Mr. C. P. Laing and which is now on view in the windows of (J. E. Eogers and Company in Emerson street.
