ELLERSLIE TRIALS. Some First-Class Gallops Recorded C0NDITI0NS IDEAL

AUCKLAND, This Day. Weather and track conditions were ideal at Ellerslie this morning for the final gallops in connection with the Auckland Racing Club's autumn meeting, which opens on Saturday. Some 'first-class trials were recorded. The course proper, on which the poles were out 40 feet, and the No. 3 grass and han tracks were available for fast work, but practically all the galloping was done on ihe first-named track. The best efforts of the morning were fchose of Scotland, Mazir, Kelly, Tooley St-reet and Francis Drake.

On the Course Proper. Kilonsa (Wiggins) had Tooley Street (Gilchrist) as a companion over six furlongs, which occupied 1-16 2-5- It was the best of the morning over th/j distance, and Tooley Street, who had an advantage in weight, beat his companion by over four lengths. Valspear, after taking 37 3-5secs. for the first three furlongs, ran right away from Thangilamba over six furlongs, which took 1.17 4-5. Shy shaded Royal Appellant at the conclusion of a similar fcask, run in 1.17 -3-5. The first three furlongs took 38 l-5sees. and both horses did their work in good style. After takingj 53 l-5secs for her first four furlongs, Golden Sheila had a bi« in reserve at the end of seven, the time being 1.33 1-5. Smoke Screen and Elanage were about on terms after reeiiug off five furlongs in 1.3 2-57 the last half mile being covered in 50 l-5secs. Both worked impressively.

Scotland and Mazir finished clear of Lmpasto over seven furlongs run itj 1.28 2-5, the best of - the morning over the distance. They ran the first four furlongs in 50 1--5 eecs, and Mazir was several lengths back at this -stage butfinished on very resolutely. lmpasto is not a good track worker, and little notice can he taken of his efforts. Armacourt was going) better than Tybalt, with High Tea further back, at the conclusion of a mile run in 1.45 4-5.
