Service-Car Damaged Struok by a qar which did uqt stop, one of the Hawke's Bay Motor Co*» service cars on the routs between Gisborne and Napier waa bumped off tha road and slightly damaged near Waikarei iasfc night. The passengers, 'some of whom were slightly bruised, were transferred ta another * car whieh sped out to the scene of the accident. Thq damaged car was later able to continue its journey to Napier. The driver of the service-car, nofcicing another car approaching, drew as far as possible to the left-hand eide of the road. Nevertheless, the othep car did not keep a straight course, and oolhded with the end of the heavier vehiele. The serviee-car, beeause it was so near the edge of the road, was forced down the bank .by the impaet. By the time the passengers and driver had got out of the car and on to the road the other oar had disappeared. Police inquiries are being made.
