CORAL CLOQUE WORN BY TWO BRIDESMAIDS
Lean — McSweeney Wedding St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North, was the «cene of a very pretty wedding recently when Elma Edith, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs McSweeney, of Palmerston North and formerly of Waipawa, was married to Lloyd William, on3y son of Mrs Lean, Havelock North. The llev. Mr Hubbard officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her faiher, wor© a gown of silver-threaded cloque, the skirt having) an inset panel at the back which fell away to ferm a long fan-shaped train. The bodiee, which was glashed at the back and cut away in front at the neckline, was caught with hand-made silver lame roses, and the full bishop sleeves were gathered in at the wrist swith stitched bands of silver lame. Her tulle veil was caught to the head with a halo of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas, carnations, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Misses A* Corskie (Waipawa) and Irls King (Taranaki), eousin of the bride. Both were gowned in frocks of coral dust figured cloque. The simple fitting skirts moulded the figure and were gathered at the waistline and caught with a spray of silver flowers. The bodices had rounded yokes with a row of tiny buttons from the neckline to waist at the back and very full puffed sleeves. Head bands of twisted silver lame and pink were worn, and also dainty silver and red sandals. Both bridesmaids carried ruched tulle muffs the same toning a3 their frocks, and also silver sequin evening bags, the gift of the bridegroom. Two brotherg of the bride, Mr F. McSweeney and Mr I. McSweeney, carried out the duties of best man and groomsman respectively. As the bride left the church she was presented with a silver horseshoe by liitle David Myhill, nephew of the bridegroom, Later Mr and Mrs McSweeney entertained a large number of friends and relatives at a reception. The bride's mother wore a smart ensemble of black figured willow crepe relieved with cerise, and black hat, and carried a posy of cerise carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom'® mother wore a brown figured ensemble with hat to tone, and she 6arried a posy of autumn tints. Later in the evening the happ;couple left on an estended tour of the North Igland. The bride looked very smart in a black tailored costume with hat, gloves and shoes to tone, and she carried a skin handbag. Mr and Mrs Lean's future home will be in New Plymouth.
