MOTHERS' UNION MEETS AT MAKOTUKU

The monthly meeting of the Makotuku Mothers' IJnion was opened with a short devotional service in the Anglican Church, at which the vicar, the Rev. S. B. R. Corbin, gave a helpful address. Later in the vestry the* vacancy cansed by the transfer of Mrs. N. Martyn, the secretary and enrolling member, was filled by the appointment of Mrs. J. Palmer to this office. The vicar reported a vlesire to form a prayer link with Makotuku expressed to him by members of a Staffordshire English branch, at Walsall. This was agreed to. Mr. Corbin then vividly described the Mothers' IJnion Festival, held in Westminster Abbey, which he had attended while ia England. Mrs. Sehaare reported on the festival held in Napier, with the dedication of the Waiapu Mothers' IJnion banner, at which she had been present. It was resolved to hold this year's meetings on the first Tuesday in each month.
