A third case, a suspect, was also reported, but this was later definitely diagnosed as an entirely different eoctt' plaint. There have now been seven cases ren ported in Hastings and the surrounding districta since the first case was regorfc* ed thTee weeks ago. It is interesting to note that np to the present outbreak Hastings had been free of the complaint since February, 1928, though there was one sus* pected case early in 1929, bnt thia proved negative.
