Mother Arresied for Murder MELBOURNE TRAGEDY (Eeceived 22, 8.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 21. A child aged seven years was nmothered to death while sleeping in its noine in Balwyn, a suburb of Melbourne, on Saturday night. Marion Payne, the child 's mother, has been arrested and charged with murder. It is alleged that the mother said sho believed the child was suffering from an incurable disease. The father, who is a member of the Camberwell City Council, was unaware of the tragedy till the morning. On Friday another child, aged 12, who had been ill was sent to stay at the grandmother's home.
