CLIFFORD—AUSTIN

St. Peter'S Catholic Ohurclf, Wairoa, on Wednesdky was the scene of a very pretty wedding, when Margaret Thurese, dauglitor nf Mr Austin, Hastings, was married to Maurice John, second son of Mr and Mrs D. Clifford, Kabill street, Wairoa. The Eev. Yrather Doherty performed the cereinony. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mf D. Eeardoti, wore a lOvely fi'oek of white satiii. The bodice, square-cut at the neck, was finished witli silver lanie and featured the full ])a]]oon sleeves, the waist-line being delined by a plaited lnme belt. The panel slcirt was sbirred on the hip and flored gracefullv •eelow the ktnees to sweop into a train. A billowy veil of tulle was arranged with a coronet of plaited lanie and orahge blossoins, and fell iii sof't folds. Shoes of white shtin were worn, and she carried a b.ridal ' bouquet composed of wTj'i.* bnHadftnna

lilies Und dahlias, intfermingled with maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by MisS Mary Clifcord (sieter 6f the bridegroom) and Miss Molly Watson.. They wore picture frocks of sunfiower yellow and chartreuse-green taffetas ra* spectively, puffed sleeves^ the waist finished with hasque, and belts With gold bucklCs. The bouffant skirts, stiffen^d at the hems, just revealed satin shoes to tone with their frocks. Halo bats worn by the bridesmaids were formed of plaitfed taffetas, each attendant carrying a bouquet Of sunfiower cactUS dahlias with delil'f te tr'ailS of fern. The duties of best man tvere featfied out by Mr EugenO Clifford, brother of the bridegroom, hnd Mr Les. Summerfield was grooniSman. As the hridal party entered the church the organ sounded out the Wedding March, and hyfiins were sUng by the Misses Eenouf aud Mr M. Barrett. Followihg the cerenlony the guOsts were entertained at a charmingly arranged feeeption at Osler'S Tea-Tooms. The rooms were gay with a wealth of dahlias and asters, the colour note being effectively repeated in the table decorations. The customary toasts were honoured and the handsome threetiered cake was cii't by the bride. At the gathering songs were 'sung by Miss Eenouf, and Mr M. Barrett» The bride and bridegroom left later on their honeymoon tour in the north. The bride travelled in a tailored suit of bfOWn flecked WOrsted, worii "with a parChment l&ce blouse, and Tyrolean brown velour haf OTnamented with ■ a jaunty quill.
