"THAT CIRL FROM PARIS" Headed by Lily Pons, the famoug singing star, a cast of well-known players brings to the State Theatre, Hastings, "That Girl From Paris." Lily Pons's beautiful voic6 is heard to advantage in five melodies speciallyj written for the film, They are": "Call to Arms," "Love and Learn," "Seal iij With a Kiss,'' "My Nephew Frora Nice," and "Moonface." The story is of a quick-mdving type, i'ull of action, and many amusing situations arise after Lily Pons stmvs away in the cabin occupied by four American dance-band musicians, leaving France without a passport. She is quickly detected and locked up by the purser, but later she manages to escape, and tlie trailing of her by th© police forms the theme of the story until, in the end, one of the musicians marries her and so makes her an American citizen. Gene Raymond is the handsome musician with whom she falls in loye and Herman Bing, who will be remembered from his recent appearances in "Champagne Waltz," and "The King Stepr Out," provides tlie comedy touchi Others in the cast include Jack Oakiei "lischa Auer and Frank Jenks.
