Reserved Judgment Given

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Reserved judgment was given by Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Waipukurau Court to-day in the case in which W. A. Lane claimed from the Hatuma Lime Co. the sum of £58 3/6, and the company counter-clairaed for £87 18/10. The claim^for £58 3/6, for quarrying lime, was admitted by the com pany. Counter-claiming for £87 18/10, the company alleged: (a) That, in consequence of Lane's faulty work, the quarrying operations were dangerous and unsafe and it had been put to con siderable expense to remedy the posit'.on; (b) that Lane had failed to complece a tunnel but instead had nade a cutting which interrupted a watercourse and let the water iirto the tunnel • (c) and that Lane failed to keep the bin filled with lime, resulting in loss of profit. The Magistrate awarded £37 10/- cn the eounter-claim, £27 10/- ion and £10 on (b). > ______ %
