GARDEN FETE
18eal weather prevailed yesterday and to-day for the annual garden fete of St. Joseph's Convent, Napier, held at the convent grounds on Bluff Hill. Parents of pupils and friends gave this function splendid patronage, with the result that the Convent funds have been swelled in a most satisfactory manner. Napier South, Port Ahuriri and Convent High Sehool pupils supervised stalls which offered fruit, produce, fancy and other goods for sale. Parents were given the opportunity of inspeeting indoors the work carried out by the girls during the past year, while in the grounds some much appreciated exhibitions of action dancing were given. The fete was opened yesterday by Dean Holley, who thanked the public for their patronage and wished the Convent the best of success in its function. The Convent is grateful to members of the Napier Citizens' Band for attending this afternoon and giving items.
