Our Hospital Board

"SUNaOH."

(To the Editor.) Sir, — For some timo past matters have not been going too smoothly on fche Hospital Board, chiefly because we have a Mussolini chairman. Now, Sir, Mussolini was Italy's saviour when she was suffering with sleeping sickness. What has happened? The old trust-ing-To-Iuck and chance, and rule-of-thumb organisation has gone and we have a new and better Italy. The same law applies to the Hospital Board. The present. giood chairman of the board is a most capable man. He is not buying his popularity; he is too straight and fearless for that game, and that is the fcype of man that is going to succeed. He expects strict discipline. Goodness knows that discipline is absolutely neccssary when controlling all large organisations. Without discipline you eannot have a loyal or competent staffbr. Berry knows that all xight, and it is a thousand pities that he does not resign and make room for a befter meniber. The Napier people would he pleased if he was off the board. Regarding Mr Morse's policy, all I can say is that a child could see it, but beware gallant knight. Ye may fali fcwixt the ship and the wharf. In conclusion, I may state that Mr Lassen is a strangier to me. I have never met him. I admire the man's courage, and supported with such good men as Mr C- Duff, Mr R. Har dng, Mr S. McKee, etc., there is nothing to vvorrv about. — Yours. etc..
