ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Arthur McKeever, alais B. Farmer, was charged, before Mr G. E. Fowler, J.P., at the Waipukurau Court yesterday with intent to defraud by false pretences, to wit a valueless cheque, he obtained from William Gregor McKenzie goods to the value of £1 17/6 and the sum of £13 2/6 in money, the property of Harry Gair, draper Waipukurau. Accussed was remanded to appear at Napier on March 25. On receipt of advice that the suspected man had been seen on the Waipawa side of Te Aute, Constable D. H. Sutton, of Waipukurau, communicated with Constable R. H. Moss, Waipawa, who later made the arrest.
