SLIPPED ON PAVEMENT
Resident Asks For Redress From Council LIABILITY DENIED Stating that he slipped on the crossing at the intersection of Heretaunga and Warren streets, and injured his ehoulder, Mr T. Scanlon wrote to the Hastings Borough Council last evening asking if it would be prepared to pay his medical expenses. The Borough engineer, Mr C. EEvans, reported that he had inspected all the crossings at the junction of Heretaunga and Warren streets, and they did not appear to bo lippery. Two are of eoncrete, and further lougjiening could be carried out without any difficulty. 'Ihe council decided that this matter be referred to the borough engineer t.o roughen further the crossings where i~eoessary, and that Mr Scanlon be a-Jv,'s-ed that tlie council has no legal liability in the matter, but that his ietter had been referred to the Mayor for consideration
