Good Demand Makes Sound Market . T0P PRICE 24/6 A good demand ruled for the yarding of 1500 fat sheep at Stortford Lodge yesterday. The market was sound and steady, with all quality lines easy to trade. Heavy prime wethers made to 29/8 and extra prime heavy ewes topped the market at 24/6. Medium ewes made to 20/-, while light-finished lots hardly made freezing echedule rates. Very few pens of lambs were yarded, medium to heavy making 25/-, with extra heavy to 3J./9. Values were offered as under for se lected lots: — An entry from Kereru of 20 wellgrown, heavy, prime-quality wethers sold at 29/8. A line of 22 medium to heavy ewes-, prime finished, .brought 19/6. A small pen of medium prime wethers sold at 26/-. An entry of black-faced wethers from Waihou, good medium weight mutton, made 24/6. An entry of 64 medium wethers avergging about 50 Ibs. sold at 25/10. A small line of extra prime Southdown four-tooths brought 25/-. On account of Mr J. Wellwood, 23 extra prime heavy ewes, the best yarded for some time, brought 24/6. Two petfs of light finished aged ewes realised l|/9. A single extra heavy prime woolly lamb brought 31/3.
