WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Th© ' 59th annual conference of the Hawke's Bay District of Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfelioavs in New Zealand was held in Waipukurau to-day, when officers and deputies were present on a full basis of representation. The District Grand Master. (Bro. G. Reg Cook, Loyal 8avistock Lodge, Waipukurau) presided and other officers present were : — Bros P. J. Priest, deputy-D.G.M. (Loyal Hastings), 'J. P. Williamson, P.D.G.M. District Seferetary (Loyal Napier Lodge), and F. ' D.. . Mackie, I.P.D.G.M. (Loyal . . Woodville), members of the Management Committee, Bros. N. J. McKay (A Director of the Order in New Zealand), and , E. C. Hurdsfield P.D.G.M's., A. H. Robinson and C. H. White, of Waipawa, Waipukurau, Woodville^ , Napier, , and Meeanee, respectively. ' The Lodges represented are: Loyal Te' Reinga (Wairoa),) Loyal Napier, Loyal Meeanee, Loyal Clive, Loyal Hastings, Loyal Abbotsford (Waipawa), Loyal Tavistock' (Waipukurau), Loyal Ruahine, Loyal Takapau, Loyal Forest Hoine '(Ormondville), Loyal Dannevirke and Loyal Woodville. ' An able addi'ess was deli-vered by the Grand Master,. .to whom the best thanks ot' .the conference were extended. In the conrae of his address Bro. Cook made special reference ' to the juvenile Lodge movement', stating that there wero now six branches, with a total membership of 589, viz: Loyal Hastings, Dannevirke, Woodville, Waipawa, Napier and Tavistock (Waipukurau), the Inst three having been established.in the past year. He congratulated Loyal Hastiiigs as the pioneer Lodge (192fi). The Graud Master informatively referred- to the p'roposed national health, sickness, and pension schemes. Eraternal grcetings were extended to the Gl'and Master, officers and deputies by Bro. B. R'obertson, N.G. on belialf of Tavistock Lodge: A civic welcome rollowed, Hl's Worship the Mayor (Mr ; I, W.. N. Mackie) expressing local goodwilj towardn the visitors.
