ELSTHORPE PICNIC
Pupils and Parents Day at Kairakau Beach The annual school picnic of the Elsthorpe School was held last Saturday at Kairakau Beach. A large number of parents and friends, together with the school children, Ead a most enjoyable day.'s outing, the weather being fine throughout the day. The cnembers of the school committee and the ladies provided xefreshments and ice creams which were enjoyed by all. Swimming was indulged in and during the afternoon a sports programme was carried out. Pollowing were the results: — Junior girls ' race: Joan Yesty 1, May Smith 2, Janet Watson 3.
