WALLINGFORD GROUP
The annual meeting of the Wallingford Women '3 Institute was held at Wallingford on Thursday afternoon, Mrs. J . D. Ormond presiding over a fair attendance of members, several visitors being also present. Mesdames J. Canning and Walker were appointed delegates to attend the Southern Hawek's Bay annual Federation Council meeting which is to ba held at Waipukurau. The secretary, Mrs. J. L. Jamieson, presented the annual report and bal* auco sheet; bn+h proving most satisfactory. Mrs. J '). Ormond also addressed
| the" meeting aud commented f avourably «. on the year's work. The following eommittee was eleeted for the ensuing year: — President, Mrs. J. D. Ormond (re-elected) ; secretary, Mrs. G. L. Jamieson (re-eldcted) ; eommittee, Mesdames P. Canning, Bevan, T. Geenty, F. Jackson, E. McNutt, R. Stoddart, R. P. Wilder and L. Wilson. The xesults of the competitions for the day were :—Best. collection of vegetables, Mrs. S. Ward i, Mrs. G. L. Jamieson 2; embroidered apron, Mrs. 8.' Ward 1, Mrs. T. Hobson 2,. Mrs. Wooster 3. - The points prize for the year Was won by Mrs. Jackson, who also gained Mrs. Ormond's special prize for the member entering into most competitions. Mrs. E. McNutt was successful in winning Mrs. J. Canning 's prizp for the best labour-Savihg device in the home. The market stall held in place Of the_ potato competition did a steady business dttring the afternoon, a satisfactory Bum being made for the federation funds. - ; Mrs. Schipein was eleeted a new member. ^ The hostesses for the afternoon w!ere Mesdames J. Canning, H. Parsons, Absolum, F. Davey, Murphy and M. Morrah. i
