LORD NUFFIELD'S GIFT
Mr Morse Has Plans Ready £1400 FOR NAPIER Ways and means of spending the' sum of £1400, Napier's share of Lord Nuffield's recent donation to various munieipalities of the Dominion, has occupied the mind of the Mayor, Mr. C. O. Morse, who announced yesterday that he had formed an outline of how best to use tho money, but he was liot prepared at the present juncture to give details of his plans. Various organisations whom Mr. Morse thought were not entitled to share in the gift had already come forward with appli-, cations for an allocation. While in Timaru last week, Mr. Morse was able personally to thank Lord Nuffield for his gift to the municipality. Lord Nuffield and Mr. Morse dined together, and they went into the matter of how best to spend the money. "1 extended to Lord Nuffield a cordial invitation to visit Napier, but he regretted that time would not permit at present," said Mr. Morse. "However, I have every reason to believe that he will come on another oecasion. One is not long in his company before one realises that his main concern is the children of the Empire."
