Hastings Clnb's Annual Meeting FINANCES SOUND Mr. O. J. Baker presided over a large attendance of members and supporters of the Hastings Rugby Pootball Club at its 19th annual general meeting last week. The annual xeport stated that on and of£ the field all teams enjoyed a good year of football, and the results attained, though not brilliant, were, nevertheless, satisfactory. The seniors, who faced the initial xkick-off, were a particularly joung and promising team, but owing to losses suffered by casualties, and the departure from the district of the captain and seeretary, the team fell away and eventually only just succeeded in handing the woodenspoon to their old championship rivals, Pirates. The juniors again succeeded in filling up the position of runners-up in the sub-union competition. The thirds had a better season the previous year. They kept together throughout, and were successful in entering the final of the seven-aside touri.ey at Waipukurau out of a field of eleven. The fourths finished the season in promising style after having difficulty in fielding a team early in the year. The report refers to the fact that there is a credit of £15 5/11, and draws attention to the success of the annual dance and competition conducted by the club, which resulted in revenue of over £20. Thanks are extended to Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Baker, Messrs. J. W. Talbot, Geo. Dyer, L. J. Eisher, H. Spence, A. Lomas, L. Palmer, A. Kirkpatrick, G. Dyer, J. J. Ewing, W.
