CHRISTCHURCH, Lalt Night. No comment was forthcoming from' Commissioner Cummings when the report from Auckland alleging victixnisution of executive members of the Police Association was referred to him fliis morning. Commissioner Cummings, who is at present in Christchurch on an official visit, admitted that he had read the report containing the allegations of viotimisation and also the allegations tha; he had not been helpful to the smooth running of the association. He said that at present he did not wish to say anything on the subject, which would bo dealt with by him on his return to Wellington. Detective-Sergeant Meiklejohn, who has been transferred from Auckland and whose case was mentioned in ts-.e Auckland inessage, was secretary of the branch of the Police Association in that city. He will go to Palmerston North to fill the vacancy caused by the transfer of Detective-Sergeaut J. Biekerdike to Chjistchurchg • •• .1" ,
