New York Mayor's Remarks Rouse Ire (Received 13, 8.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 12. Mr Cordell Hull has instructed Mr Dodd, Ambassadop at Berlin, to make .emphatjc comment to the German Gov'ernment regarding attacks of the official press on Mr L. Guardia, Mayor of New York, and American women. He explained that a comment differed from protest and representation hecaxxse it does not oblige Germany to reply officially. Mr Hull's aetion resulted from a letter of protest by th© president of the Jewish women's organisations which Mr La Gnardia was addressing when he criticised Herr Hitler recently. The letter says the Nazi Press, inoluding Angriff, published a statement that 1200 women were attending a meeting of "women of the streets," gathered to be entertained by a "pimp and procurer."
