"SHOW BOAT" BACK AGAIN • The music of "Show Boat," coia* posed by Jerome Kern, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein H., haa gained such popularity that all the origiual numbers were retained in Universal 'a 1936 screen versio-7 of the Edna Ferbeii elassic, which is again showing at thn State Theatre. The hit numbers of the play Incluca "Make Believe" and "Why Do I Lova You?" duets rendered by Irene Dunna and Allan Jones. Helen Morgan 'does two numbers that she has made famous, "Bill" and "Can't Help Lovin' That Man " Other songs are "Old Fashion* ed Wife," "Cotton Blossom," "Aftefl the Ball" by Charles K. Harris, and "Goodbye, My Lady Love," by Joseplf Howard. Paul Kobeson, the world-re-nowned baritone, sings "Old Man River" and a new offering, "Ah Still Suits Me. " A now duet number, "I Have the Boom Above Her," is pra* sented by Irene Bunne and Allan Jonea* Miss Dunne also has a sprightly tuna called "Gallivantin* Around." One of the special features of thd production is a chorus of 200 voice® that weave a spell with unusual rhyth* mic tono patterns.
