Mr and Mrs J. A. Martin, of Haitaitai, Wellington, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs H. A. Martin, Kitchener strcet, Waipukurau, have returned home. Miss Gladys Clark, who has been staying with Mr W. Clark, Argyll, left yesterday to join the Monterey, en route for Canada. Mesdames H. 31. Preston, A. E. King and H. C. Mason returned to Waipawa yesterday after spending » holiday in the South Island. Mr L. Grehside, of Waipawa, has been compelled to enter the Pistrict Hospital for treatment. 31r Henry Avison, a very old resident of Waipawa, is at present seriously ill in the Waipukurau HLospital The Itev. N. P. Larseri, Mrs Larsen and their small daughter left Wairoa 3'esterday for Otaki, en route for Westport. i Mr J- P. Phelan. chajrnian of the No. 1 Licensing Autliority, and the secretary, Mr R. H. R. Nichols left Wairoa on Tuesday for Gisborne.
