Endorsing the principl© of compul»ory unionism as applied to farmers, the Manawatu provincial executiv© of the Farmers' Unioji decided to notify ihe Dominion execufive, after securing the opinion of branches on the subjeet, that it is in favour of the introduetion of this system, a deflnition of attitude towards which has been sought by the •enior body. The Oxecutive objected to any suggestion of Government commandeer of meat or wool. Several branches are forwarding adverse opinions.
