Prices Decline by 7/6 to 10/a Head at Stortford RESTRICTED RUYING A definitely easier market ruled for store cattle at Stortford Lodge yesterday when the offering included a nurn"ber of well-bred gtation lines of young bullocks in forward order and 30-month, well-grown steers. Weather conditions checking the growth of feed restricted the buying, and the market conld be quoted at 7/6 to 10/- a head down. Well-grown bullocks in very forward order, ready for finisbing, made to £10 4/-. . Well-bred 30-month Hereford steers, in splendid order, from Wharerangi, brought £8 10/-; The principal ontry of cows with late calves at foot from Puketapu brought £8. The offering generally was above the jsual standard of quality. Values were as under for selected lines: — On account of Edeham Station, 51 nicely-grown, young, well-bred Abcrdeen Angas-H*ereford cross bullocks, ia very forward condition, having been very well done, were passed at £10 4/-. On account of the same station, 45 very forward, clean-bred, young Aberdeen Angas bullocks, slightly smaller grown than the previous pen and a fine quality line' in splendid order, were passed at £9 17/6. On account of Mr. E. Orr, Rosemount, Puketapu, 35 Aberdeen Angus cows, in medium order with a similar number of sturdy late calves by an A.A. bull, made £8. These.cows had been de pasturing with a stud Aberdeen Angus bull since early in December. On account of Mrs. A. V. S. Eeed, Wharerangi, 660 well-grown, 30-month, dehorned Hereford steers, in forward condition, in very good doing order, were passed at £8 10/-. In from Otamauri, 13 mixed-bred cows with late calves at foot made £7. An eutry of 26 small-grown, 30month Aberdeen Angus cross steers was passed at £7 15/-. Down from Kereru, seven well-grown bullocks iu medium order made £8 18/6. On accotmt of Poporangi Station, 24 three-year Aberdeen Angus-Heroford cross medium-grown steers, in good store condition, brought £9 1/-. On account of the same station. 5U similarly-bred 30-month steers, useful young growing cattle, realised £8 1/-.
