L'hihips, Midhurst, Taranaki, was inarried to Frederick Jolni William, eldest son oi' AJr and Mrs F. Clark, Fitzroy Avenuo, Hastings. The Rev. H. B. Gosnell officiated aud Miss Napier presided at the organ. The hymn, "The Voice That Breathed G'er Fden," was sung. The church had been beautitully decorated with bowls of pink lislladonna lilies, cosmos, sweet peas and fern. Posies of pink and white asters tied with pink ribbon marked the guests pews, all the decorations having been done by Mrs B. Williams, a friend of the bride. I The bride mad© a charming picture
as she entered the church with Mr S. Smillitt. who was gave her away. Her gown was of white satin beaute made on long slim-fitting lmes pleated from the waist at the back and falling into a long full train. The neck was softly cowled in front and finished with a spray of orange blossom while at the back tiny satiu-covered buttons were arranged from the neck to the waist. The long, fitting sleeves formed poiuts over the hands and a heavy silk girdle was iooped in the front with long ends. Her veil, which was lent by a friend was mounted on a pleated halo with pcarlg and orange blossom and fell to form a second train. ^he wore silver shoes and carried a beautiful arm-skower of white roses and asters and palest pink carnations arranged with maidenhair fern and satin streamers. IJusky pink suede crepe was worn by tho matron-of-honour, Mrs M. John, and by the bridesmaid, Miss Margery Uressan. Mrs John's gown was fashioned with an ankle-length fully flared skirt and softly cowled neckline. The sleeves were puffed and a sash with long ends fastened with a diamante buckle. She wore a wreath of pink briar roses in her hair and carried a beautiful arm-shower of pink lilies and fern with pink streamers. The bridesmaind's gown was very similar to that worn by the matron-of-honour but it bad a square neckline caugbt. with diamante clasps. Her head band and arm shower were composed of the same flowers. Little Noeline Cooper was a dainty flower ' girl in a long pale blue frock with small yoke edged with frills, short •puffed sleeves and scalloped hem. She wore a wreath of blue cornflowers in her hair and carried a posy of palest pink sweet-peas and fern with blue streamers. Mr Ross King attended the bridegroom as best man and Mr Eric CJlark was groomsman. As tbe br.ide and bridegroom left the church little Betty Williams presented the bride with a lucky silver horseshoe tied. with white ribbon and white heather from Scotland. After the ceremony a small :eception was held in the Band-room, where, in the aosence of the bride's parents, Mf and Mrs F. Clark received the guests. The liall was attractively decorated in pale pink and white with streamers and a wedding bell. Pink dahlias and pink and white asters decorated the bridal table in the centrc of which stood the two-tiered wedding cake which had been iced and decorated in white and silver and was made and given to the bride by Mrs J. Walsh. Over 60 guests were present and the usual toasts were hcnoured. / Mrs F. Clark wore an ensemble of lime green inariette trimmed with fawn, a long brown coat and browri taffeta hat with cellopha.ne trimming. Her bouquet was of red and gold zinnias and ferns. ' The brid© traveiled in a smart grey costume worn with an oriental blcuse and grey accessories, her coat being of blue tweed. Guests present included : — Mr and Mrs S. Smillie (Porangahau), Mr and Mrs R. Cooper, Mr and Mrs R. L. Gigg, Mr and Mrs Franklin, Mr and Mrs T. Dencb, Mr and Mrs D. Martin, Mr and Mrs W. Morris, Mr and Mrs L. Cooper, Mr and Mrs J. Walsh, Mr and Mrs R. Bixley, Mr and Mrs J. Cressan, Mr and Mrs W. Williams, Mr and Mrs L. John, Mrs Pcison (Christchurch), Misses Margaret Smillie (Cambridge), E. Spiers, L. Lowe, C. Mooro, M. Moore, M. Morris, Yvonne and Elaine Franklin, Betty and Alice Williams, Lenore Cressan. Messrs W. Walsh, Geo. D'Amners, H. Mclvor, J. Downey, J. Mclvor, E. Wakefield, G. Cressan, J. Williams, L. Hollobun (Christchurch), W, Williams and others.
