GUARD OF HONOUR FORMED BY MEMBERS OF HASTINGS REGIMENT

HAMPTON — BRINSLEY Charming gowns of deepeat turquoise blue panne velvet were worn by the bridesmaid and little flower-girl at the wedding last evening of Thelma Lees, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Brinsley, Pepper street, Hastings, and Leonard Renwick, only son of Mr and Mrs A- Hampton, Cbarles street, Hastings. The wedding was eolemnised last evening by the Rev. D. J. A. Shaw at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, where shaded pink asters and huge bowls of pink belladonna lilies were arranged with artistic effect. Miss A. Locsk presided at th© organ and played the wedding marches and the hymn, "O Perfect Love." Parchment satin royale designed on classical lines was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. The skirt had a pannelled effect and from the waistEne in front a panel was set to continue round to the baek and flare out to fotm a very long rounded train- The decolletage in front was fashioned with wide revers and at the neckline were three large parchment velvet flowers .while tiny buttons and loops were arranged from the neck to waist at the back. The long eleeves were slightly puffed at the shouldeds, and were fitting at the wrist with tiny buttons up to the elbow'. She wore parchment satin shoes and her veil of embroidered tulle was arranged from a narrow halo of orange blossom buds. She earried a shower bouquet in cream shades with roses, carnations and charm dahlias. and trailers of fern and white delphiniums. The bridesmaid was Miss Olive Hampton, sister of the bridegroom, and her gown of blue panne velvet was cut with a trained skirt joined at the waist in front in a V shape and having a belt from each side clasped at the back with large diamond-shaped covered huckle. The corsage was shirred across the front and a folded collar was caught at the back with a brilliant clasp, the two ends forming the effect of a low. The sleeves were long and fitting, with a little fullness at the shoulders. She wore velvet shoes the same shade as her gown, and a velvet halo edged with tiny pink flowers. Her shower bouquet was composed of flowers in a rich shade of pink with roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. Miss Barbara Adamson was a flowergirl and wore a short frock of the feame material as the bridesmaid. The skirt was ruched onto the bodice and ruching on the shoulders formed puffed sleeves fitting into a narrow frill. The sq i irccut neckline was caught with a pink spray and her" halo was the saxne as that worn by the older.maid. She earried a basket of flowers in pink shades with tiny roses, miniature zinnias and fern. Mr Douglas Graham was the best man and the ushers at the church were Messrs Robert and David Mintoft. When the bride- and bridegroom left the church the members of the bridegroom 'b regiment formed a guard of honour with fixed bayonets from the church to the bridal car and also escorted the car to the reception at the Hawke's Bay Farmers' tea-rooms. The wedding breakfast was a very jolly one with the usual toasts and speeches and the tables were decorated with a blue and pink colour echeme, asters, cactus dahlias, zinnias and tiger , lilies. In the centre of the bridal table stood the three-tiered wedding cake iced in an ivory shade with silver favours and topped ^with a trailing ornament which had decorated the top of the wedding cake of an aunt of the bride. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs W. Brinsley and Mr and Mrs A. Hampton. parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs Brinsley's gown was of Nanking blue needlerun lac© with trained skirt and brilliant clasps at the shoulders, the neckline being finished in front with soft pink flowers. Her little coatee of lace had draped armholes edged with wide bands of grey squirrel fur. She wore a black hat with a pink flower in front and earried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and fern. Mrs A. Hampton wore a gown of navy crepe backed satin with an inset design in navy chiffon in the corsage and over tbe shoulders. Gold "lasps finished each "slde of the neck and her navy blue hat had gold flowers in front. Gold and orange shaded flowers formed her oouquet, all the bouquets having been beautifully made by Webbs' JSTofseries. When thfl bride and bridegroom left by car for their honeymoon tour the bride traveJled in a very smart ensemble of deep blue fine afghalaine. Tbe suit had a pleated basque and stitched belt and was trimmed with navy blue buttons. Navy buttons also trimmed the three-quarter matching coat cut on military lines. She wore a navy velou*- hat with quill in two shades of blue through the cnwn and navy accessories. Uuny vu'v beautifnl presents were to be seen at the bride's honie and these included several presentations. The staff o^ th© Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-op. Assn., presented the bride with a dinner service, the Hawke's Bay regiment gave the bridegroom a crystal jug and goblets and the Lands and Survey Department presented him with a chiming clock.
