(Reeaived 10, 11.30 a,m») LONDON, March 9^ There are indications that the msurgents are renewing their attacks on Madrid in three sectors and are reported to be meeting with considerable succesg. A fierce battle is progregsing in the upper GuadalajafU secter, v^here the rebels claim to have taken 15 miles of territory. Madrid admits that the enemy at' taeked heavily with 30 tanks and mass* ed nrtiUery but claims that the Gov- 1 ernment forees stood firm and late? ' launched a counter-attack. Fighting ig alpo progressing pn the ' Siguenza frnot. ] General De Llanp, broadpasting from 1 Seville, claims that several rebsl cplumng advaneing on that front eaptured a number of places, including Almadrones, Alaminos, Castejon, Dehenares and Mirabueno, and adds that the Government forces, including the International Brigade, fled, leaving 50 dead, The insurgents say they captured many prisoners. A Gibraltar message says that deserters from the Government ranks declare that large quantities of war material are being removed from the capital to prevent their falling into the hands oi the rebels.
