NELSON, Last Night.. The annual conference of the TJxxited Fire Brigade's Association has concluded. Thp officers eleeted were: President, Superintendent A. 3. Bennett ; (Nelson) ; vice-presidents, secretary DL. Ferguson (Gisborne), and foreman |o. H, Carey (Patea) ; treasurer, Mr Q. A. 'Osborne (Onehunga). Gold stars for twenty-five years' service were presented to R. W. Dayman ! (Nelson), W, C, Draper (Hastings), T. |H. Seymour (Dunedin), and A. White ((Greymouth). It was resolved that thp eecutivp enquire into the possibility of the Government reducing license fees on motor fire engines. Three invitations fpr the nest cqnfereneq wqre reeeived from Whangarei, 'New piymputh and Thames. A vete will be taken by the affiliated brigades M isoon as possible. A mqtion was passed requesting th® Minister to reembpdy the provisions in the new motor vehicles regulations making prosecution possible where a fire hose is run over by vehicles. ■ Last year's officers and members of the institute were all re-eleeted with the [addition of Superintendent Morrison '(Christchurch) as a vice-president.
