ST. MATTHEW'S MOTHERS' UNION AFTERNOON

Members of St. Mattnew "s Mothers ' Union met yesterday afternoon to bid farewell to the vicar, Ganon C. Mor-timer-Jones, who sails by the Rangitiki on Saturday for a visit to England. Mrs. M. T. de Lisle, the president, was in the chair and with her was the secretary, Mrs. G. G. Mackechnie. A small gift from the members was presented to Canon Mortimer-Jones, who gave a short talk and thanked everyone for the kind thought. Later afternoon tea was enjoyed by all. "
