High Standard of Play Witnessed EAST C0AST D0 WELL Tb» Hawke 's Bay Polo Club 's annual Yankee tournament was continued on the Hastings racecourse to-day. . Thirteen teams are competing, outside representatives being the Masterton, Rangitikei and Taihape teams. The principal trophy being contested is the Dewar Cup, whieh goes to the winners in the senior grade open competition. Play both yesterday and to-day has been of a high standard, and several fast and interesting games were watched by an- enthusiastic crowd^ Yesterday afternoon's games on the racecourse were slower than on the polo ground, owing to the wind, but all tbe games saw hard riding, and, as is usaal in the opening stages of such a tournament, some erratic hitting. The East Coast team put up a great display to defeat Rangitikei A., and showed excellent form. ' The Waipawa team did well to keep the Hawke 's Bay team from scoring more than six goals. For Atua the two veteran players, E. T. Wilder and W. Crampton, put up a sterling performance. Additional results are as follow:— JTJNIOR. Open. Haumoana defeated Taihape, 9 — 2.
