WAIPUKUEAU, This Day. The fiag "500" card evening organised by the members of the Hatuma Women's Institute, and held in the Hatuma Hall on Friday evening proved a great success, over 70 players being present who all spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The following were the prize winners: Mesdames C. B. Lowes .and Patterson, Messrs C. B! Lowes " and W. Hamilton; consolation, Mifises K. Eiddle and J. Wilson, Messrs A. Wilson and E. Burgess. After supper had been served, the president of the Institute, Miss E. Allan, presented the prizes to the successful winners and took the opportun- : ity of thanking Mrs Howard for donating two of the prizes, the players for attending and all those who had given and helped so willingly towards making the evening such a success. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought a happy evening to a elo'se.
