Sunee Does a Pleasing Six Furlongs TRACKS FIRMER

WELLINGTON. This Day. With the' first of the visiting brigade on hand, there was quite a deal of ,interest in the proceedings at Trentham this morhing. Yesterday remained still unsettled. The outside of the course proper.was mainly used for fast .work but the trial grass. and plough were also available. Among the horses to please were Debham, Laiighing Lass, Smoke Screen, Darecourt, . Chief Ranger, Dungarvan, Sunee and Alunga, but there were others who might have improved. The only gallop of account on .tbe trial grass was done by Sunee. and. Gopd Sun. Sunee set off from the six furlongs post, and after picking up a mate at the five furlongs, -came home- well half a length in front in 1.18. Sunee is to run on the eecond day in the handicap. Debham was going smoothly half a length ahead of Koren after taking 1.33 for seven furlongs on the Course proper, the last half mile taking, 54 1-5. Alunga was alwajps clear of Haupangi and Mynam over six furlongs in 1-19 1-5, tbe last half-mile taking 52sees. Silver Ring was sent over six furlongs which required 1.19 3-5. the last half mile in 52 l-5secs., and he did not altogether please in the way he was reaching at' the finish. It was his first fast gallop for nearly four months. Sea Wrack, with Galteemore picl^ng her up at the six furlongs post, rau seve^ furlongs in . 1.33, but she ' was stopping at the end and the last halfmile took 54 2-5secs. Galteemore finished clear of Darecourt and always had the ' mpasure of Arctio King and Rona Bay over* a mile, and he finished a length in front aftercovering vthe .distance in 1.44- 2-5, • the last half i mile in 53 2-5, but the other pair are not' g0'o'd"track wbrkers. Laughing .Lass -and Smoke Screen were together tlirqugh five furlongs in 1.3 3-5, the last half mile in 48 '4-5secs. Chief .'Ranger was going easily in beating The Bigot by 'half a length cver six furlqnga in- 1.20, -the last half -mile in 52 3-5secs; • ' Revival was mueh too-giood for Laggard over seven furlongs ' in 1.33, the last half-mile in 53seos.. .
