(Jtker members, however, thought that it would be an incentive to ratepa^ers to pay their rates promptly and any amount lost in rebate would Be fully mad© up in the interest that tbe council would save on its overdraft at tbe bank. Visiting School Choir. For the first time in many years a visiting scbool choir bas entered for tbe ehoir section of tbe Napier competitions and will be heard on Easter Saturday. Tbe cboir, from tbe Northlands Scbool, Wellington, is to be oonducted by Mr F. M. r^ifold, vicepresident of tbe Wellington Competitions Society, and will arrive in Napier on tbe Thursday preceding tbeir appearance.
