One Team in Each of Four Grades A decision to enter one team in each ' of tbe first four grades tbis coming season was reacbed by tbe Napier Marist Brotbers' Old Boys' Rugby Football 4 Club at tbe annuai general meeting last "nigbt. . There was a satisfaetory attendance of members, and tbe enthusiasm displayed last nigbt augured well for tbe success of the 1937 football season. Tbe election of officers resulted as follbws: Patron, Rev. Dean Holley; president, Mr J. P. Mabony; vice-pro-sidents, Rev. Fathers McKenna and Spring, Messrs J. Kenny, M. Fitzgibbon, F. O. Mabony, D. Shanaban, Mrs MeClelland; cbairman, Mr T. W. Hercock; club captain, Mr B. J; Mabony; deiegates to H.B.R.U., Messrs J. W. Callaghan and T. W. Hercock; bon. auditor, Mr J. W. Callaghan; club coaches, -Mr J. Taylor (senior), Mr J. Fulton (juniors), Mr F. McPharland (thirds), Mr B. J. Mahony (fourths); committee, Messrs T. Hayes, W. Robins, V". Roche, G. O'Connor, T. Bolesworth, B. Dinneen, D. Scoble, T. W. Ireland, y. B. ClaTeburt,. ''The financial return is most pleasing and tbe fact that tbe senior team won tbe championsbip after 21 years' effort places tbe club in the happy position of being able to point out witb enthusiasm tbe facts related,'' stated tbe annuai report. "Tbe senior team, tbe ultimate winners of tbe Hawke's Bay Rugby Union's senior championsbips, commenced . the season by cbowing spendid form in the Spillane tournament, where they were successful in capturing the Moran Cup.. "Tbey wer© early moulded into a sound all round combination by Coaches J. P. Sullivan and J. Taylor, and by conscientious attention to training the side kept on tbe top of tbe ladder rigbt througbout tbe season, a very creditable performance in that the championship was the most evenly contested in years. "The juniors team commenced the season badly but persevered and became quite a good side. finisbing up by easily beating the cbampions. Thanks are due to their very popular coacli, Mr J. Fulton. "Handicapped by injui'ies in tbe most important games, the thirds are to be congratulated on battling through the season agaanst beavy odds. "Tbe club this year very sincerely took as much pride in the meritorious performances of the fourths as tbey did in tbe seniors. Thanks are due to the great efforts put forward by their very capable and energetic coacb, Mr BJ. Mahony. "The club is now in tbe best financial position in its history, mainly due

to tbe interest in tbe financial side taken by tbe majority of members and to the great efforts put forward by them througbout tbe entire season. "Thanks are expressed to those wbo so kindly gave donations and trophies during tbe season- I trust tbat these well-wishers will continue to give tbeir valued support. There are also many who have been of great assistance to us during tbe year and tbese also I wish to tbank. Speeial mention is made of tbe f ollowing : — Tbe Very Revferend Dean Holley, our patron; Mr J. W. Callaghan, tbe bon. auditor and our representative on tbe Hawke's Bay Rugby Union; the Hawke'e Bay referees, tbe St. John Ambulance, Dr. Foley, Dr. Maaka, Dr, FitzGerald and tbe Press.
