Noxious Weeds. Makotuku School. Ideal weather prevailed for the Makotuku school picnic and prize giving, which took place on the public domain on Saturday. There was an excellent gathering of parents and friends. After lunch at noon, there followed the sports. In addition to the ordinary flat races there were a number of novelty races — sack race, egg and spoon, biscuit and whislle, etc., which created much amusement, There were bran tubs and soft drinks for the children, and ice creams in abundance for everyone. Results were: Primer boys, Leslie Teck 1, Colin Edgecombe 2. Primer girls, Josie Gamble 1. Ormondville Golf. In spite of tho Ormoncivjile ttolf Club openiug their season unusually early, the links are in excellent order, and many players are to be seen on the course polishing up their games in antieipation of the coming Easter tournament.
