CROQUET TOURNEY ENDS
Ladies' Championship Won by Mrs H. Glass The Southern Hawke's Bay croquet tournament was brought to a successful conclusion late on Friday afternoon with the final_of the ladies' championship for the Dawson Rose Bowl, which was won by Mrs H. Glass, who defeated Miss Card, of Featherston, in two games out of three, by 26 — 7 and 26 — 4, the winner displaying good form. Miss Card had previously played three strenuous games, which probably accounted for her not being on her usual game. Mrs K. Miller, vice-president, in a happy speech, presented the remaining trophies to the successful competitors, congratulating them on their success. She also referred to the capable manner in which Mrs G. A. Doggett, who was in ; charge of the tea arrangements, had carried out her onerous duties. | The visitors were very pleased with ithe splendid manner in which the tourInament was conducted, and many of jthem have expressed their intention of 1 coming to next year's fixture.
