PICKNICKERS INJURED
Mysterious Accident Near Manawatu Gorge Two young men hailing from Foxton are in the Palmerston North hospitai in a serious condition as the result of a mysterious motor-cycle accident which happened at the Woodville end of the Manawatu Gorge yesterday afternoon. They were both found lying unconscious partly down a bank by passing motorists while their machine was propped up agaiust the wire roadside fence. Tho two men are Robert Morris, fiax worker, aud , Dolphe Halidone, fiax feeder. They had been to the Trados Uiiiou picnie at Ashhurst. Tlicre was no ludieation of a eollision but both must have been lying for some timo where they were found as biood * was drying on their faces. A doetor was summoned from Woodville and they were brought into the hospitai by the free ambulanee. The hospitai authorities reportod this mormng that Morris is now conscious and his injuries consist of a laeeratcd f ace, cut knee and a fractured right arm. Halidone has a fractured skull and face abrasions and a lacerated khee. The condition of both victims was repprted to be favourable in the coreuiaifcaacss,
