Annual Competition

ESKDALE, This Day. , The annual calf-judging competition of the pupils of the Eskview Sehool was held at the school on Friday morning, when there was a large attendance of parents. The judging was in the capable hands of Messrs. H. Wilson and A. J. Baird, members of the committee of the Hastings Jersey Breeders ' Club. The results of the judging were as follows: — Grade dairy class, for cup presented by Mr. Wallace. — Ken Cookson 1, Alister Nichol 2, Graham Wallace 3. Crossbred dairy class, for cup presented by Mr. F. C. Clark. — Max Nichol 1, Max Peterson 2. Champion calf, for cup presented by Mr. R. S. Ellis and Rawley's prize (per Mr. P. F. King) . — Ken Cookson (France House)l. After the judging? Mr. L. A. stafford, chairman of the school committee, presented the prizes and complimented the exhibitors on the showing made. Morning tea was supplied by the ladies. Three cheers were given for Mr. Baird and ' Mr. Wilson for their generous help.
