WAIPUKURAU, March 6. Criticism of the proposal to oliminate the levei crossing in the main street ot Waipukurau by the constructiou of an overhead bridge was voiced by mcmbers of the Waipukarau County Council tod ay. The chairman (Mr. A. C. Russell) said that it would mean disfiguring the i town — ^while a crossinglteeper was employed as at present there was'no danger, he declared.
