Roosevelt to call a disarmamenb confereif of representativ#;3 of Britain, France, Japan, Germany, Italy and Russia to "halt the mad naval race." Following its defeat the amendment Will be again submitted in the form of a resolution for Iater action. l The Naval Bill provides for 130,000, 000 dollars to complete the construction of two battleships, eleven cruisers, 48 destroyers and 17 submarines, also 29,186,000 dollars for aeroplane construction which will give the navy 397 new 'planes by June, 1938.
