PING PONG PARTY FOR PLUNKET FUNDS AT WAIPUKURAU

A fair attendance of members gathered on the Waipukuruau Tennis Club grounds for the Yankee tournament arranged by Misses Hazel Moorhead and Mary Buchanan on Wednesday in aid of Plunket funds. Unfortunately rain set in soon after onc o'clock, so, in place of tennis, those present spent an enjoyable afternoon playing ping-pong, Miss D. Hunter and partner being the winners, who received suitable prizes kindly donated by Mrs J. W. Harding. • A competition for a pretty dressing gown, presented by Mrs J. Hobson, was won by Mr John Hobson. A feature of the afternoon was the sumptuous tea provided by Mesdames J. W. Harding and Percy Hunter.
