From a doubtful morning • weather eonditions for the - Napier Park Racing Ciub'.s autumn meeting developed into a day of bright sunshine and heat tempened later with a light breeze. Lady patrons discarded fur and top coats in the afternocm. Brown in coats, fursj costumes and hats was undoubtedly first favourite in frocking, navy blue. taking second place. Quite a sprinkiing of grey tailored costumes wero noted and hats. for the most part werq small and of ttye eLse-fitting fcype. , , Uheers went up in the bird cage at the conclusion of the Napier Cup race, The president, Mr O. Louisson, . made a fitting speech and Mrs Louisson handed the cup to the successful owner of King's Lancer, Mr W. H. Gaisford. On the lawn were noted; The president of the Napier Racing Club, Mr Cecil Louisson and Mrs Louisson, the latter wearing a, frock of black erepe de chine patterned in red and white under her black seal coat. Very smart was her English model beret of stitched lace straw. The secretary, Mr J. E. Gleadow and Mrs Gleadow, the latter wearing an attractive: model; tunic ensemble in new hrown amure." Mrs A. F. jDeans proposed a vote of tbanks to the circle leader and the outgoing committee and this was carried with acclamation. Mrs -A. -F. Gienny asked all the members to think of some ' special entertainment for Coronation week, especially as the Guild meeting actually falls on Coronation Day. She also reminded members of the excellent Guild open evening entertainment which is bemg organised for April 1. The G.F.S. rooms were gaily decorated for the meeting by Mrs Taylor with bowls of pmk and mauve asters and.. mauve Miehaelmas daisies, and others of gaillardias and purple daisies. Afternoon tea ■ and . a pleasant chat concluded . the meeting.
