Run Over by Trucks

DUNEDIN, This Day. During shunting operations at Seacliff at 7.10 o'clock this morning, Rowland Neilson Familton, aged 24, relieving railway clerk, was killed when a waggon ran over him. After applying the brakes on the trucks he jumped direetly in front of five waggons on another set of r4ils and was run down, not realising that shunting operations were in progress there. Deceased was a native of Oamaru, and represented North Otago in Rugby. He was also a good swimmer, participating in the New Zealand rescue evenfc at Campbeil's Bay some time ago.
