Mrs A. E. Wiggins has returned to New Plymouth from a visit to Wellington and Napier. Miss Audrey Beaven, New Plymouth, is spending a holiday at Wellington and Woodville. Mrs L. G. Darvell, New Plymouth, is visiting Hastings, where she will attend the Morton-Darvell wedding, whieh is to take place next week. Miss Margery Barton of Lower Hutt who has been the guest of Mrs H. M. Bennett, Corry Avenue, Napier, has returned home. Mr E. Holliday of the New Zealand Agricultural Co., Ltd., Auckland, is on a business visit to Waipukurau. He is staying with Mrs G. E. Smith, Montgomery street. c Mr and Mrs John Kelly, Henry street, Hastings, are leaving shortly for a trip to Engiand. They sail by the Waipawa froin Napier. Miss Wade, Timaru, who has been the guest of Mrs W. R. Wade, New Plymouth, is staying in Otane. . Mrs C. C. Smith, Gonville, Wanganui, has returned from a visit to Auckland and Napier. Miss A. Bryant who hias been on a short holiday visit to her , sister, Mrs Goymour, of Havelock North, leaves by to-night's mail for Auckland to catch the Wanganella on her return to Tasmania. Mrs Logan , and the Misses May and Barbara Logan, who spent last week camping at Ngamotu beach, New Plymouth, have returned to Otane. Mrs Harrison has returned, to New Plymouth after staying with her daughiter-iu-law, Mrs R. T. Harrison. Miss M. McGregor, Heta street, Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs W. Nicholson IMiller, Havelock North. Mrs R. E. Gregory, Napier, accompanied by her two children, is visiting her mother-jn-Iaw, Mrs E. J. Gregory, Russell street, Gisbcrne. Sir Andrew and Lady Russell, "Tananui" Hastings, will leave for Gisborne on Saturday to visit their son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs A. H. Russell, Maunga toitoi, jNgatapa. The following members of the Waipukurau Fire Brigade are leaving on Friday to attend the New. Zealand Fire Brigade 's Annual Conference and Demonstration to be held at Nelson: Superintendent J. A. Chambers (vicepresident, U.F.B.A.), Foreman A. S. Annand (official ■ judge), Firemen H. Scherf, H. Woodward, R. Spotswood, J. Arlidge and T. Spencer. Messrs Scherf, Woodward, Spotswood and Arlidge, with T. Spencer, as emergency, will represent the local brigade as a team in the various events.
