DOUBLE MI'NING FATALITY Heavy Fall of Coal at Linton 11 LEFT FATHERLESS

INVERCARGILL, This Day. A double mining fatality occured at Linton coal-mine, Ohai, shortly afiber 11 o'dlock this morning. when two experienced miners, Peter Johnstone, aged 5Q, married with ten children, one of whom is married, and Thomas Thomsen, aged about 38, married with one child, lost their lives through a heavy fall of coal. The bodies were recovered half an hour later, but it was evident that hoth were killed instantly. The inspector of the Mines Department, Mr J. Hughes, had a few minutes before the fall passed through the working.
